What is your favorite type of cumbia?

I've always been fascinated with Cumbia music and the various different forms. It amazes me how vastly contrasting cumbia music can be based on your region and or location. What is your favorite type of cumbia? Do you like the more traditional Colombia-style cumbia called vallenato (which literally means "born in the valley"). This type incorporates the flute, accordion and more distinctly an instrument called a guacharaca( named after the type of bird the sound is trying to emulate). What about the rapidly growing sub-genre called Regio or cumbia lagunera, which includes the likes of Sabor Kolombia, Los Capi, Chicos de Barrio. This type of cumbia is much more fast paced and not for the faint of heart. It is considered Mexican Cumiba which includes more instruments (such as the trombone, trumpet) than the traditional Colombian cumbia. Regardless of which sub genre of cumbia you enjoy, cumbia is a popular music style that all can enjoy listening to and if you dare, express yourself by actually dancing to it. There are also many forms of cumbia dance depending on your region, but we'll leave that topic for another time.
